What is drainage and how can it affect asphalt
Surface water must always be considered when constructing EV car parks and charging hubs, to avoid flooding, pooling and long-term damage to hardstanding surfaces. Kerb lines and edgings are set with correct falls to ensure all surface water runs into the installed gullies and drains serving the site. Installation Process
Where no surface water system is in place which is often the case on greenfield or undeveloped EV site locations, Blackoak can design new systems and install to manage all potential surface water from the outset.
The most common method used is gravity drainage connecting into the existing assets. The nearest point of drainage services is identified and new pipe runs are excavated to the correct depths and falls to connect the new system into the existing network.
Pipes are installed with gravel bedding surrounds for protection and checked for levels throughout. Gullies are then set and installed at ground level to collect storm water from across the EV hardstanding.
