EV Ducting & Base Installation Across the UK
Blackoak Contracts delivers specialist EV ducting and charger base installation across the UK. Our clients include charge point operators, principal contractors and local authorities. For every client, we handle the full civils package: excavation, trenching, duct installation, access pits, concrete bases and reinstatement.
Once the groundworks finish, we leave each site ready for the electrical team to connect and commission. From a single charging bay to a large hub development, we install the below-ground infrastructure that every EV charging site depends on.
Ducting / Groundworks
We install EV cable ducting to suit each site’s design and ground conditions. Options include flexi ducting for versatile routing, rigiduct for durable protection, and twin wall smooth duct for efficient cable management. Once a run is dug, we lay the ducting on 150mm of graded 0–2mm sand.
Where specified, we use termosand or powersand instead. Then we cover it and add detectable warning tape or BS tile protection. In higher-traffic areas, we also pour a concrete surround for extra durability. Because depth and routing matter. Our trenching and excavation teams prepare every run to the correct depth and routing.

Access Pits / Drawpits
We build access pits and drawpits so installers and maintenance teams get safe, long-term access to the duct network. Standard sizes run from 600mm x 600mm up to 2m x 2m. For anything larger, we custom-build using block and beam.
All highway lids meet D400 loading standards, while we use B125 lids in footpaths and soft landscaping. Because these pits take heavy loads and frequent use, we build each one from durable materials.
EV Bases / Blocks
Blackoak has extensive experience installing pre-cast EV charger bases and blocks. Each one gives the charging unit a solid, accurate foundation. Using certified lifting eyes and specialist equipment, we lift every base precisely into position.
As a result, the placement is exact and stable for the long term. The finished foundation is compliant and durable ready for the charge point to sit on top.

PSU Bases
Our teams also install the supporting infrastructure that completes an EV charging site. This includes PSU and Tesla Supercharger bases, plus LV bases set in situ.
On top of that, we fit lamppost sleeves, retention sockets, sign posts, bollards and Armco barriers. From the foundations to the protection features, we build robust, future-proof charging environments for both public and private sites.

STAKKA Boxes
we supply and installs STAKKA boxes for safe, practical access to underground ducting. Strong yet flexible, they protect cable routes while still allowing easy access for inspection, maintenance and future upgrades. Our team fits each unit aligned, secure and compliant with industry standards.

NAL Systems
Blackoak specialises in NAL ground socket and retention system installation for EV car parks. These systems let clients install, remove or upgrade charging units with minimal disruption.
