Permeable Solutions

Blackoak Contracts can help make the car park area a permeable option by providing block paving systems or grass crates if required, allowing water to infiltrate naturally and reducing surface water runoff.

Drainage Design & Installation

We start by investigating the current drainage on site and make a plan to reuse the assets in the ground, combining them with a new drainage network. Drainage channels or ACO Qmax channels can be installed to control surface water, in either a D400 spec for road traffic or B125 for pedestrians. Sumps can be added to the channels to act as silt traps, all being directed towards assets, soakaways, or attenuation tanks.

Deeper Drainage

Some EV sites may require deeper drainage connections due to existing assets. Blackoak safely carries out this work using trenches, manholes, and drag boxes to protect operatives during excavation. All operatives are trained in confined space entry to ensure maximum safety. Depending on depth, chambers are constructed using concrete rings and cover slabs, adaptable to D400 manhole covers.

Hydro-Brake Manholes

Hydro-Brake® manholes provide a reliable way to control water flow on EV car park sites. Using advanced vortex technology, they regulate discharge rates without any moving parts, ensuring long-term performance with minimal maintenance. By controlling the flow from SuDS or sewer systems, Hydro-Brake® manholes prevent flooding, reduce erosion, and protect downstream infrastructure and the environment.

Oil Interceptors

Blackoak Contracts installs oil interceptors for EV car parks to prevent oil, fuel, and hydrocarbons from entering sewers or the environment. The system slows water flow so oils float, sediments settle, and cleaner water is safely discharged.
