Framework

A Framework contract or agreement is a means of procuring services or products for a set period (maximum 4 years) for agreed projects and schemes. Frameworks have been tried & tested for over 10 years now in the construction industry and are becoming more and more popular especially amongst local authorities, large chains and companies with multiple sites. An agreement is put in place for a contractor to cover a client’s needs for a set length of time to improve efficiency, timescales and the need to go into great detail for every little job repeatedly, cutting wasted time and saving on physical resources and cost for the customer.

Framework does not have set terms & values for each person or company, it’s more like a bespoke agreement between two parties that works for both of them. Providing better value for the customer over a set period of time, whilst giving stability to the contractor with pre-agreed work and projects which can be organised in advance.

Frameworks also enables continuous improvement throughout the contract timescales, allowing lessons and best practises to be carried across from project to project, using the same team repeatedly highlights continuous improvement, and leads to better experience, better relationships and improved ‘best practises’.
