Sandy Bay

By | Case Studies for Park Homes | No Comments

Works are currently on going at our Sandy Bay site in Ashington. This site consists of 25 caravan/lodge plots, where we are installing all aspects of groundworks. Upon arrival to the site, we were presented with many large piles of muck dotted about and therefore decided the best course of action would be to hire a bulldozer, which was used to level all the ground and resulted in us and the client saving a lot of money and time. The next step was to install all the surface water drainage and foul drainage, to the correct heights and levels, to connect to the concrete bases which will house the caravans and lodges. Using timber shuttering we then got the bases set out ready for concrete pouring, ensuring the bases were set to the correct height and levels. We were extremely satisfied with the outcome of the 25 bases installed and continued works by installing 6×5 bullnose kerbs to the road and tarmac base to keep the caravan site clean and tidy. To finalise our works, we had teams of men installing the driveways and top soiling around the plots to give it the aesthetically please finish.

Penally Grange

During our works on Penally Grange Lodge Park in Tenby, South Wales, there were residents present living on site, and thus we had to cause as little disruption as possible. We were given a deadline of 10 weeks from commencement, and completed the works in 8. The scope of works was to install eight 22ft x 44ft concrete bases/pads with amenities and services. Each plot required water, electric, gas, data, sewage, and water drainage, along with structuring roads, footpaths, turfing gardens, building a patio area, tarmacking 2 parking spaces, and other
building works. Each pad was installed using C35 concrete complete with fibres, at a depth of 150mm. The site was then levelled and landscaped around the plots using the material which had been excavated. The patio and gardens were installed with a blue facing brick, and a blue grey Indian stone patio to finish.

Blackoak have recently completed a caravan site consisting of 24 caravan bases. To begin we had to remove the original, old, dated caravan bases as well as the existing drainage and services. Once all the pads had been removed, we made sure we had a clean site ready to install all the new drainage, concrete bases, road construction; and all the finishing touches including block paving driveways, top soiling, and turfing. As can be seen in the photos, we take pride in everything we do. We did have to battle a lot of bad weather to ensure this job was completed on time, nevertheless we successfully met the deadline and completed the work to the highest of standards. Our moto at Blackoak is “That’ll do – Won’t do”
